Breast cancer survivors Marie Bell and Kay Ellis will celebrate breast cancer awareness month by holding a mini field of women at Woorim Beach on Saturday 25 Oct at 2pm. Pink Ladies on the Beach is a free event that aims to pay tribute to women with breast cancer and highlight the impact of breast cancer on the whole community. Everyone is invited to come along and plant a pink lady silhouette on the beach to show their support.
There will also be information available about the Breast Cancer Network Australia and the resources they provide. Marie and Kay have recently trained as Breast Cancer Network Australia Community Liaisons for Bribie Island. They are also members of the recently formed Dragons Abreast Bribie Island, who are raising funds for their own dragon boat. Donations can be made on the day to both BCNA and Dragons Abreast Bribie Island.
Please contact Marie Bell 0411 489 667 or Kay Ellis 0412 779 500 for more information.
Mini-Field of Women:
Mini-Fields of Women consists of 100 Pink Lady silhouettes symbolizing the 13,000 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer each year and the 2,600 women who die from breast cancer each year.
The impact is felt by us all and we would like you to join us for this special event to celebrate and remember all those affected by breast cancer in our community.
